Skin Boosters Explained: Do You Need Them?
A treatment for skin quality rather than shape. Here's how they work and how to tell if they're worth it for you.

Skin boosters are fine injections of hyaluronic acid delivered just beneath the skin's surface to improve hydration, elasticity, and overall glow. Unlike fillers, they don't add volume — they're aimed purely at skin quality.
The signs your skin might benefit
- Skin that feels dry or tight despite a good skincare routine
- A dull or tired appearance, even when well-rested
- Fine texture concerns rather than deeper lines or volume loss
How it works
Tiny injections distribute hyaluronic acid evenly through the treated area, drawing in and holding moisture from within — this is different to a topical moisturiser, which only works on the skin's surface.
What results actually look like
Most people notice a gradual improvement in hydration and glow over the days and weeks following treatment, rather than an instant change. A course of sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, is commonly recommended to build and maintain results.
Is this instead of, or as well as, my skincare routine?
As well as — skin boosters work alongside a good skincare routine, not as a replacement for one. If you're weighing this up against dermal filler, see our dermal fillers vs skin boosters comparison.
