Anti-Wrinkle Injections: What to Expect at Your First Appointment
First time booking anti-wrinkle injections? Here's exactly what happens, from the consultation to walking out the door.

Your first anti-wrinkle appointment at London Skin Bar starts with a full consultation, not a needle. Dr Maral Taghadosi assesses your skin, discusses your goals, and confirms suitability before any treatment takes place — the injections themselves typically take only a few minutes.
Before you arrive
There's nothing special to prepare. Arrive with clean skin where possible, and avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication (such as ibuprofen or aspirin, where medically appropriate) for 24 hours beforehand, as this can increase bruising.
The consultation
Dr Maral will talk through your medical history, any medications, previous treatments, and what you're hoping to achieve. This isn't a formality — it's how she decides whether treatment is appropriate for you, and which areas will give the most natural-looking result.
The treatment
Once you're both happy to proceed, the injections themselves are quick — most appointments are complete within 30–45 minutes including consultation time. A fine needle is used, and most people describe the sensation as a brief scratch rather than significant pain.
Immediately after
You can typically return to normal activities straight away. Dr Maral will talk you through aftercare before you leave — see our Botox Aftercare guide for the full detail.
